VOICES FROM THE AFTERLIFE
The
voices listed on this page are a small
selection of the voices of spirits heard through materialisation
medium David Thompson and the Circle of the Silver Cord
in 2006 and 2007.
Materialization
mediumship is a rare kind of mediumship in which spirits
from the afterlife take energy and a substance called ectoplasm
from the body of a medium and a group of sitters. Because
light destroys ectoplasm (just as heat destroys ice) the
sittings must take place in total darkness.
Speaking through ectoplasm is very difficult and frightening
for spirits (they say it is like speaking underwater) and
the first few times they come through from the afterlife
they have difficulty.
